Limited Edition Spoof London Underground Map - Issued by Subline (Map #1 Sept 2025)
Produced by Subline. Limited edition of 250. Dated September 2025. Measures 21cm x 15cm. Signed and numbered (25/250). Condition: As new.
To the unsuspecting traveller, this looks like any other tube map. According to Subline's Instagram page, these maps were dropped in London in early October. These unofficial maps would have perplexed tourists but delighted Underground enthusiasts!
This intriguing spoof map of the London Underground is a grid montage of nine different maps that date between 1892-1933. The maps have been cleverly aligned - which must have been particularly challenging given the amount of geographical distortion across this period. The cover is a realistic rendering of Horace Taylor's 'Brightest London" poster. Graffiti tags of the notorious taggers TOX and 10Foot feature in the image which might suggest Subline has some connection with these two, or perhaps just a tribute to them.
