This lovely pictorial route map covers a limited area with the south east of England and London, as well as some of France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Imperial Airways routes from Croydon to Cologne first began in 1924. Later that year, the aircraft illustrated on the map (G-EBIX) was put into service. This was a Handley Page W8f aircraft, later rebuilt as a W8g, named 'City of Washington'. It made its first Imperial Airways flight in November 1924 but was involved in a fatal crash in October 1930.
The map promotes the German spa town of Neuenahr, as well as the routes London-Paris, London-Amsterdam and others.
